ONE DAY CSCS ROADWORKER TRAINING PROGRAMME
Health and Safety At Roadworks

1. Programme Aim
The aim the one day Health and Safety at Roadwork’s training programme is to provide the
participants (16 years upwards who preferably have previous experience in the construction industry)
with the appropriate training in terms of knowledge and skills and attitudes necessary to carry out
health and safety at roadwork’s. In addition participants with having a good awareness of health and
safety issues and be able to report same their supervisor so they can address the issues.

2. Target Audeince
The programme is designed to meet the training and certification needs of Local Authority, Public
Utilities and private sector contractors and other persons involved in works on public roads.

3. Programme Objectives
On completion of this one day health and safety at roadwork’s training programme trainees will
be able to carryout road maintenance and construction work in a safe manner.

4. Programme Content
Module 1: Legislation in relation to Roadwork’s
Module 2: Signing, Lighting & Guarding at Roadwork’s
Module 3: Safety in Excavations
Module 4: Plant and Equipment
Module 5: Materials
Module 6: Emergency Procedures, First Aid, Fire Safety at Roadwork’s

5. Assessment:
Twenty multiple choice questions with fourteen correct to achieve a pass
